| Florida law requires a massage therapy license of anyone who practices touch therapies for compensation. The Florida Board of Massage Therapy requires applicants to pass the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB) as a requirement for licensure. SSMT graduates are eligible to sit for the NCETMB and have an extremely high pass rate on the exam. Many other states also use the NCETMB as a requirement for licensure, making the credential widely applicable. Students planning to practice in another state may contact the school for information regarding the state in which they are interested in practicing. The school can also supply telephone numbers for the relevant state agencies. |
